KYLE GRIM

Kyle (left) has been serving at The Grill since December of '23! We love having Kyle on our Front of House team.
+ "What does Grill Magic mean to you?"
"Within a few months of coming to Harrisonburg in 2013, I walked from my dorm room to The Grill for an Open Mic night I heard about. There were artists I met and songs l heard that night that changed my life forever. The Grill possess a quality of community that is easier felt than expressed, and that is Grill Magic to me."
+ "What adjective would you use to describe the culture
among front of house staff?"
"Omertà."
+ "Do you come hang out/dine off shift, and if so what does that dynamic look like?"
"I eat at The Grill often on days off. Typically early in the morning. Even if someone is tired of seeing my face (which I know how that goes), I am ALWAYS met with friendly greetings from my coworkers, a delicious meal from our GOATED back of house staff, and genuine conversation that never feels shallow or forced, and for that I am grateful."
+ "How does working at The Grill contribute to or impact your creative energy and motivation?"
of my favorite qualities of The Grill is the amount of younger people that work there with creative endeavors, either public or private. I often discuss music, ideas, and motivations with almost all of my coworkers and it keeps me inspired and encouraged to create alongside of each other and contribute to this bizarre and beautiful art scene we have in town."
+ "Most underrated menu item?"
"Corned Beef Hash. Filling, delicious, and often slept on by people under 55."
+ "Which art piece or artifact in the restaurant do you resonate most with and why?"
"This might be a cop out but I kind of feel like I resonate with the organized chaos of all of the art pieces and artifacts all over the shelves and walls rather than one specific piece. In a world of overly curated and trendy sterile brunch environments, I find the amalgamation of trinkets and knickknacks to be inviting and non pretentious and I resonate with that."
